MEMBER UNITED STATES PONY CLUBS
USPC MISSION STATEMENT
The mission of the United States Pony Club is to
provide a program for youth that teaches riding,
mounted sports, and the care of horses and ponies,
thereby developing responsibility,
moral judgment, leadership and self-confidence.
Pony Club is the leading junior
equestrian organization in the world, represented in 30 countnes. The United
States has over 600 member clubs spread throughout the 48 states and the Virgin
Islands with a total members of over 12000.
The pony club program offers mounted programs in Dressage, Eventing, Games, Show
Jumping, Polocrossee and Tetrathlon, Foxhunting . Unmounted instruction
includes information on the care, feeding, shoeing, veterinary care and other
areas of horse management. Although it is not necessary for a child to own
their own horse or pony, they must have access to one when required.
THE OLD DOMINION REGION
The Old Dominion Region has a total of
17 Registered clubs of the United States Pony Clubs. Our territory covers the southeastern
coastline, through the
pastoral Shenandoah Valley, to the borders of West Virginia and Tennessee.
The Old Dominion Region is active throughout the year with clinics, camps and
regional rallies ( competitions) in the disciplines of Eventing, Mounted Games,
Dressage, Show Jumping and Quiz ( unmounted competition of horse knowledge).
